It is with great honor and optimism that I welcome you to the College of Engineering at Debre Berhan University -a distinguished hub of applied science, innovation, excellence, and future‑oriented learning. We are committed to advancing knowledge and skill through practice‑oriented teaching, pioneering research, and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship — guided by purpose and responsibility.

In today’s rapidly evolving world, engineering stands as the cornerstone of progress — delivering solutions to humanity’s most urgent challenges, from ensuring access to clean water and sustainable energy, to providing affordable housing, advancing digital transformation, driving green development and modern infrastructure, and harnessing the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

Our College proudly offers a wide spectrum of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across diverse engineering disciplines, enriched by the expertise of our dedicated faculty. We serve over 1331 undergraduate and postgraduate program students in different departments, guided by a committed team of 261 instructors and 92 supportive staff members. The programs are organized within the following departments:

Our newly revised applied science curriculum empowers students to immerse themselves in hands‑on learning, capstone projects, interdisciplinary initiatives, global collaborations, and real‑world problem solving. With access to state‑of‑the‑art workshops and central laboratories, strengthened by robust industry partnerships and guided by panels of expertise, our graduates emerge as entrepreneurs, innovators, and responsible citizens - prepared to contribute meaningfully to both national and global development goals. 

At the same time, we are actively pursuing national and international accreditation to ensure our engineering programs achieve the highest standards of academic excellence and global recognition.
