At Debre Berhan University, we recognize that higher education must be globally connected to be truly impactful. The Office of International Relations and partnership (OIRP) serves as DBU’s gateway to the world, fostering international partnerships, facilitating academic exchange, and promoting cross-cultural collaboration. As one of Ethiopia’s emerging universities, we are committed to expanding our global footprint through strategic alliances, research cooperation, and intercultural understanding. Our office supports students, faculty, and partners in building bridges that enrich education and advance shared global goals.

What We Do

1. Partnership Development We initiate and manage institutional partnerships with universities, research institutions, and international organizations worldwide, focusing on mutual growth and academic excellence.

2. Academic Exchange & Mobility We coordinate international staff and student mobility programs, including scholarships, study-abroad opportunities, and faculty exchange initiatives that strengthen global experience and exposure.

3. Research Collaboration We facilitate collaborative research projects across disciplines, connecting DBU scholars with international peers to tackle global challenges, from health and agriculture to climate and technology.

4. Capacity Building Through international training, joint programs, and global conferences, we help enhance institutional capacity and academic competitiveness.

5. Global Engagement & Diplomacy The office serves as a platform for international dialogue, cultural diplomacy, and public diplomacy efforts that support Ethiopia’s educational and development priorities.
