Welcome to the Clinical Pharmacy Desk at AWHSC, DBU!

The School of Pharmacy at Debre Berhan University was formally established in 2018 with the goal of meeting societal demands and national health priorities by producing graduates who are knowledgeable, skilled, capable of providing high-quality patient care, and entrepreneurship through practice-oriented education to meet the evolving needs of patients in a global context.

In my role as a clinical pharmacy desk, I co-ordinate clinical pharmacy undergraduate trainees to become capable, proficient, and well-behaved pharmacy professionals. At DBU-Hakim Gizaw Hospital, I also oversee clinical pharmacy professionals who have undergone specific training in drug therapy management and ward-based clinical practice. So, we deliver safe, evidence-based care to all admitted patients, optimize patient drug therapy, and actively participate in multidisciplinary care.

The Clinical Pharmacy Desk currently strives to open new programs in addressing the local societal needs and national health priorities, including a Master of Science Degree (MSc) in Clinical Pharmacy in the near future.

Welcome to the Pharmaceutical Supply Management and Drug Information Desk at AWHSC, HGH, DBU!

The Department of Social and Administrative Pharmacy was established in 2018 under the School of Pharmacy at Debre Berhan University, AWHSC. In addition to this program, the pharmacy service of the Hakim Gizaw Hospital (HGH) has been playing and serving the society of our country for the past three years, starting from 2022. Currently the department strives to open new programmes in addressing the local societal needs and national health priorities, including Master of Science (MSc) degrees in Social and Administrative Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Management in the near future. 

At DBU, AWHSC-HGH, the Pharmaceutical Supply Management and Drug Information Desk, focus on optimizing the pharmaceutical supply chain in hospital services, ultimately improving patient care and operational efficiency. Significantly contribute to safe, effective, and efficient medication use within the hospital setting by streamlining inventory optimization, medication safety and clinical support, information dissemination, waste reduction, cost minimization, and making the supply chain resilient.
