to Department of Chemistry, DBU The Chemistry Department has a
diverse academic and technical staff, with both male and female
representation across various academic ranks. At the level of Associate
Professor, there are 8 staff members, of whom 7 are male and 1 is female. The
department also has 4 Assistant Professors with PhD qualifications, all of
whom are male. In addition, there are 7 Assistant Professors holding MSc
degrees, including 6 males and 1 female. At the Lecturer level, the staff is
gender-balanced, with 3 males and 3 females. Among the technical staff, there
are 4 Chief Technical Assistants I (2 males and 2 females) and 1 Senior
Technical Assistant I, who is male. The department also employs 2 female
attendants. The vision of the Chemistry
Program is to become a center of excellence in applied chemistry, research,
and innovation, producing competent graduates who contribute to industrial
development, environmental sustainability, and societal well-being. The
program has several key missions, including providing high-quality education
in applied chemistry that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical
skills; promoting research and innovation that address local and global
challenges in areas such as industry, health, agriculture, and the
environment; preparing skilled professionals who can serve in industries,
research institutions, and academic sectors; and engaging in community
service and technology transfer that support sustainable development. Overall, the program aims to
equip students with strong theoretical knowledge and practical skills in
chemistry, preparing them to address real-world challenges in industry,
research, education, and community development. With a well-structured
curriculum, adequate laboratory facilities, and dedicated faculty members,
the program provides a dynamic learning environment that encourages critical
thinking, creativity, and collaboration. Students have opportunities to
engage in research, develop problem-solving skills, and contribute to
scientific advancement. Together, we strive to build a strong foundation for future scientists and professionals who will make meaningful contributions to society. |
