Welcome to the digital hub of Debre Berhan University. In today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, ICT is not just a support service-it is a strategic driver of academic excellence, research innovation, and efficient administration.

As ICT Executive Director, my vision is to transform DBU into a smart, digitally empowered university that leverages cutting-edge technology to enhance teaching and learning, streamline operations, and foster impactful research that serves our community and the nation.

Mission

To provide state-of-the-art ICT services and solutions that enable the university’s core functions in teaching-learning, research, administration, and outreach.

Key Responsibilities:

@  Develop and implement the university’s ICT strategic plan

@  Manage and upgrade network infrastructure and digital services

@  Provide hardware/software maintenance and user support

@  Automate administrative and academic processes

@  Enforce ICT policies, standards, and cyber security measures

@  Offer training, research, and consultancy services in ICT

Key Achievements:

@  All campuses are interconnected with VPN to access all services across the university campuses.

@  Successfully deployed Virtualization, Backup systems, and built a Disaster Recovery (DR) site.

@  Developed and implemented an Online Digital Payment System in collaboration with CBE Birr.

@  Implemented Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS) and Fleet Management Systems.

@   Deployed ABBIX Online Monitoring System for proactive infrastructure oversight.
