Discover Mehal-Meda Campus, Debre Berhan University: A Hub of Innovation and Learning

Located in Mehal-Meda Town, North Shewa, just 152 KM from the main campus, Debre Berhan University's Mehal-Meda Campus is a testament to rapid development and a commitment to educational excellence. Launched in June 2022, this campus quickly became operational within two years, welcoming its first cohort of 775 remedial students thanks to efficient leadership and a tremendous construction effort. Out of a total of 775 students who participated in the National Remedial Examination, 722 students (94.1%) successfully passed the assessment. Consequently, these 722 individuals have been formally integrated and registered as regular students within the campus.

Our state-of-the-art infrastructure is designed to empower modern learning. We have established over 500 broadband-connected computers, a robust 300 Mbps internet service, and a 400 KVA backup generator ensuring seamless operations. Students benefit from two modern G+4 dormitory buildings with a capacity for up to 1376 students, alongside a G+4 academic building featuring numerous classrooms and offices. We're also nearing completion on a modern student kitchen and dining centre, plus a B+G+3 digital and library services building, all designed to create a comprehensive and supportive learning environment.

The Mehal-Meda Campus is rapidly evolving into a digital campus, with extensive wired and wireless internet access and other smart campus initiatives underway. We're excited to launch three new colleges offering 8 cutting-edge programs in close collaboration with university management. These programs will cater to both current and incoming students in regular, extension, and weekend classes, attracting outstanding talent.

The campus is located 20KM from the known tourist attraction, Guassa Community Conservation Area (GCCA). Guassa Community Conservation Area is home to numerous endemic birds and wildlife species, including the iconic Ethiopian wolf and the Ethiopian gelada.

We warmly invite all visitors and prospective partners to explore the vibrant and growing Mehal-Meda Campus. Come and see how we're shaping the future of education!
